Peri-Menopausal symptoms to be discussed at EJN Hospital
An educational program for the general public titled Managing Peri-Menopausal
Symptoms will be presented on Wednesday, April 20, at 12 noon and
7 p.m., in the Education Center at E.J. Noble Hospital, Gouverneur.
Topics to be discussed will include: What is the definition of peri-menopause?
What are the signs and symptoms of peri-menopause? What are the current
recommendations for managing the symptoms associated with peri-menopause?
The speaker is Laurie Brown, BSRN. who has been a local resident all
of life, and has been a nurse at E.J. Noble Hospital for 28 years.
Ms. Brown received her Associate’s degree in nursing at SUNY
Canton in 1983 and completed her Bachelor of Science in nursing at
SUNYIT in Utica in 2010. She is currently enrolled in the Family Nurse
Practitioner Program at SUNYIT in Utica with an anticipated graduation
date of May 2012.
“I plan on practicing in the Gouverneur area after graduation
and would like to focus on women’s health,” said Ms. Brown.
“I hope this will be one of many educational opportunities to
promote health and wellness among the women in the Gouverneur area.”
