The funeral service for Mrs. Josephine Bickford, 86, of Gouverneur, was held on Tuesday, August 3, 2010, in the East Riverside Cemetery, Gouverneur.
Funeral arrangements were with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur.
Mrs. Bickford died on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the Elderwood Nursing Home in Waverly, NY where she has resided since 2002.
Born on August 30, 1923, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Carmello and Angelina Ursida. She graduated from South Waverly, High School in Pennsylvania.
She was married to Richard J. Bickford on August 19, 1946. The couple lived in Gouverneur and were well known for their splendid roller skating. Mr. Bickford died on July 2, 1990.
Mrs. Bickford was a Licensed Practical Nurse for E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur for many years. She also enjoyed crocheting and her time spent with her sisters.
Her survivors include her three sisters; Antoinette Bird of Waverly, NY and Lucile Bagalini and Rose Alexander, both of Sayre, Pennsylvania; and her nieces and nephews.
